The HemorPex System® (HPS) is a rotating surgical anoscope (single use) enabling surgeons to quickly and safely perform dearterializing muco-hemorrhoidopexy. A unique set of HPS features optimize the conditions under which the intervention is performed while significantly minimizing patient discomfort.
Introducer with Depth Control
Facilitates a smooth insertion of the HPS by allowing the prolapsed tissue to be gently lifted and distributed along the main body of the anoscope.
Permits safe rotation of the operating window (protecting tissue & sutures).
Handle
- Can be connected to an endoscopic light source device.
- ls used to anchor and hold the HPS in place during interventions.
Operating Window
- Permits the protrusion of the prolapsed tissue into the anoscope, providing direct vision and framing the operating field 2cm above the dentate line.
- Can be precisely aligned with the anatomical structures via a rotating wheel.
Rotating Wheel
- Allows precise alignment of the operating window with the location of the hemorrhoid cushions and the distal branches of the superior rectal artery.
- Most commonly used rotation order; 11-1-9-3-7-5 o’clock positions.
- 12 o’clock position is recommended for posterior prolapse interventions.
Method Description
Slowly absorbable Z stiches and sutures are applied to the anorectal mucosa and submucosa protruding through the operating window. This facilitates the plication and repositioning of the prolapsed tissue while simultaneously allowing the ligation of the superior rectal artery distal branches.
Key Benefits
- Patients do not require general anesthesia or hospitalization.
- Minimal disruption to the patient’s social and professional lives.
- No intra or post-operative bleeding or complications have been observed.
- Doppler guidance is not required for the ligation of the superior rectal artery branches.
- Significantly lower overall cost per procedure versus traditional surgery, PPH, HAL or THD.
- Proven clinical effectiveness for grade II & III hemorrhoids as well as some selected grade IV cases.
